Dylan Thomas has a unique resume. He was a Maine State Police officer who decided to pursue his long-time dream of becoming a lawyer. To support himself while attending law school, he obtained a PI license. All of which has become relevant when he is called by his sister, Caitlin, who says, "Our daughter, Sandy is missing and the police think we've killed her." The search for the abductors will lead Dylan from the wintry weather of northern Maine to Boston, where an organization called The Exchange specializes in cash-for-adoption services for an exclusive clientele.
